| Project: | Calderbrook Landslip Stabilisation | ![]() » enlarge image |
| Client: | Rochdale MBC | |
| Value: | £275,000 | |
| Scope: | This steep embankment in the Calderbrook area was suffering from landslip, threatening the integrity of a number of surrounding carriageways. The land was excavated to sound, stable substrata and rebuilt in compacted stone which was constructed in a stepped sequence. Further support was provided by a series of gabion baskets. Due to the incline of the land, the company utilised remotely controlled compaction rollers in order to eliminate fall risk hazards. Additional works within the contract included the reconstruction of damaged sections of carriageway and large drainage culverts in order to divert future water damage to the ground. |

| Client: | Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council | |
| Value: | £70,000 | |
| Scope: | No high specification city centre paving scheme is complete without a focal point. For Sudell Cross in Blackburn, the focal point was this 8 metres high metal & lighting sculpture. The installation of the sculpture required the formation of large foundations and four Chinese granite plinths, set-out using templates of the base, which the structure fitted perfectly onto. The erection of the feature was undertaken on Sunday to ease traffic congestion and required two cranes working simultaneously to position the structure correctly. |
