Contract: Design & Construction of Play Area
Programme: 8 weeks
Client: Fylde Borough Council
This lottery and community funded scheme managed by Fylde Borough Council to provide an adventure play area. A large amount of design and technical works was required due to the restricted size of the plot and for added play value.
The site was surveyed and levels were designed to compliment the existing contours. The area was re-graded and a Rock Scramble installed for play and seating purpose. This hid a new herringbone drainage system beneath which was connected to a new soak away via a 150mm carrier drain. The adjacent footpath and surrounding areas were refurbished with new steps installed complete with key-clamp fencing.
Each item of play equipment and area of wet-pour safety surfacing was chosen and designed to provide added play value and was inspected and certified to The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accident's (RoSPA) standards.
